Full Time Seasonal Ecologist 2026

Brindle and Green undertake a wide variety project work across the UK. As a Seasonal Ecologist, you will be supporting the ecology department in day-to-day field surveys.

This role is for 6-months, which would be full-time (40 hours a week), working out of our rural Derby office. The responsibilities of the role will be to complete protected species surveys, completing desk-based data analysis, as well as mapping, data processing, and report writing.

Key Responsibilities and Benefits:

  • Conducting ecological surveys including (but not limited to:) reptile surveys, great crested newt surveys, bat emergence surveys, bat activity surveys
  • Undertaking ecological clerk of works and site supervision
  • Undertaking translocation visits
  • Bat data analysis
  • QGIS mapping of data
  • Preparing survey kit
  • Preparing surveys and paper forms
  • Supporting ecological report writing
  • Structured training provided
  • Supporting other members of the team
  • Analysing and managing data
  • Expenses are paid weekly
  • Accommodation for overnight stays and expenses covered

This role gives you an insight into the role of an ecological consultant and provides valuable experience for starting your career in the sector.
