Ad-hoc Seasonal Ecologist 2026

This role is an ad-hoc Seasonal Ecologist position, which would involve completing evening surveys, including surveys for bats and great crested newts.

This is an ideal position if you have other commitments that you may need to work around but still want to build some experience within the sector. This role will be throughout the 2026 season (March – October)

Responsibilities and benefits:

  • Conducting ecological surveys including (but not limited to): reptile surveys, great crested newt surveys, bat emergence and bat activity surveys.
  • Undertaking translocation visits.
  • Structured training provided.
  • Supporting other members of the team.
  • Invoices and expenses paid monthly.
  • Accommodation for overnight stays and expenses covered

All survey equipment is provided; however, we ask that anyone applying for this role has access to their own vehicle to drive to and from the office in order for us to complete the surveys at odd hours of the night, which can be problematic if relying on public transport.

Joe Hits the Top

We are delighted to announce Joe Gilmour’s promotion to Director at Brindle & Green. Joe joined Brindle & Green in the spring of 2018 – in his early days he threw himself into anything the company needed but spent his first season on ecology survey work and helping with logistics.
