Work Experience: Exploring career paths with Isabelle

Last week, we were delighted to have Isabelle join us for work experience which was organised by senior ecologist, Kerry Baker.

Isabelle recently achieved outstanding A* grades in Maths, Latin, and Biology—an incredible accomplishment that deserves a huge congratulations! Isabelle will be continuing her academic journey in Biology at Durham University.

During her time with us, Isabelle engaged in a variety of tasks, including downloading bat survey data, analysing footage for bat emergences, shadowing ecologists during a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) survey, and assisting with the deployment of a bat static. She was particularly struck by the level of investigation and problem-solving involved in environmental consultancy.

Isabelle’s week with B&G provided her with valuable insights into the diverse career paths available after her degree. She hopes that her studies will enable her to make a positive impact. Kinzie Watts, Principal Ecologist, gifted her a bottle of bubbly to celebrate her tremendous achievement.

We are confident that she has a bright future ahead, and we wish her every success in pursuing her Biology degree.
