BNG Assessment

Calculating biodiversity value pre and post development. Existing habitats will be condition assessed to ascertain their value, and post-development proposals will be used to determine the net loss or gain on a site using the Statutory Biodiversity Net Gain Metric tools. As part of the BNG services available, we offer input into Design Team Meetings to design proportionate and appropriate mitigation and compensation in line with the mitigation hierarchy. Our team are experienced with liaising with Local Authorities, ensuring compliance with local and national policy.

MoRPh Survey

Modular River Physical (MoRPh) Surveys provide essential data to assess and enhance river habitats. They help identify hydromorphological conditions that influence biodiversity, informing conservation and restoration strategies aligned with BNG principles.

HMMP / LEMP

A Habitat Management and Monitoring Plan (HMMP) and a Landscape & Ecological Management Plan (LEMP) work together to ensure the long-term success of ecological and landscape commitments within a development or conservation project. While both documents focus on sustainable land management and biodiversity enhancement, they serve complementary roles.

What is Biodiversity Net Gain?

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is an approach to development and land management that leaves nature in a better state than before. By ensuring projects create and enhance natural habitats, BNG helps protect wildlife, restore ecosystems, and promote sustainable growth.

Ensuring Compliance with Legislation

Under the Environment Act 2021, all new developments in England must achieve at least a 10% net gain in biodiversity. Our team ensures full compliance with this legislation, helping clients navigate the planning process seamlessly.
