Operations Manager

We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the scheduling and management of environmental surveys across all technical departments.

Salary £32,500

As a result of increased growth and the desire to deliver work sustainably and effectively we are seeking a diligent, highly organised, and efficient professional to ensure project work is effectively scheduled, organised and processed following company procedures and industry guidelines.

This role would be attractive to someone with experience within an Environmental Consultancy although the skills required for this role are transferable and may suit someone with a project management background, logistics, scheduling or general problem solving to create a weekly schedule for approximately 40 technical staff. The role would be supported by the heads of each department and / or senior members of each team.

You will be based at our Head Office which is set in rural Derbyshire, therefore a full (clean) driving licence would be essential. This role, however, is primarily an office-based position due to the requirement to liaise and co-ordinate with the survey teams and discuss potential changes to schedules in real time.

The role would include but not be limited to:

  • Allocating and organising new project work
  • Work closely with the Company’s Project’s Department who oversee cross divisional project work.
  • Managing the scheduling of the company diary
  • Overseeing contact with clients on site access and logistics.
  • Work closely with the Company’s Administration Team to organise accommodation and company car allocations.
  • Ensure that surveys are scheduled effectively across departments, considering workload, skill level and capacity of individuals that surveys are scheduled in a timely manner to allow adherence to client deadlines and that ecological survey work conforms with industry guidance and policy.

It would be desirable that you have an understanding of the ecological survey seasons and survey guidance relating to protected species and habitats nationwide, although an enthusiasm towards organising and time management are equally, if not more important. Full training in relation to the specifics and complexities of the role will be provided.

A good standard of education, IT skills, a passion for Environmental services and working sustainably are essential as you will play a key role in the company and benefit from being part of vibrant, friendly, and engaging team.
